Green Earth Cleaning

In contrast, most dry cleaning methods use petrochemical solvents (Perc) that are hazardous to the environment. Hydrocarbon, another petroleum based solvent used by dry cleaners, is a volatile organic compound with its own environmental issues.

Dry cleaners using Perc or Hydrocarbon sometimes market themselves as eco-friendly because they are organic (a technically accurate claim as any chemical with a carbon backbone is organic). However, gasoline is organic, but you would not want to wash your clothes in it.We use GreenEarth, an environmentally friendly silicon-based dry cleaning solvent. It is odorless, non-hazardous, biodegradable, and does not irritate the skin.
